Gong Tones is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to advocate & study the therapeutic use of sound for mental health and well being. Gong Tones is passionate about the potential use of gong meditation as a clinical intervention for individuals with anxiety as well as for individuals needing support managing stress. Dr. Khalsa's doctoral dissertation found statistically significant reductions in trait anxiety between a group of individuals who listened to an 11-minute recorded gong meditation for two weeks and controls who either: a) listened to an 11-minute recording of water sounds in nature or b) went about activities of daily living.
