DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED: West Main Auto gave me a fair estimate and correct recommendation last spring regarding extensive precursor repairs recommended by another local shop (Kent's Auto Alignment). Based on West Main Auto's recommendation, I elected not to get the bushing replacement done and had the alignment work done elsewhere, walking away thinking I had found an honest shop willing to answer hard questions from a customer. All has been well since on this car regarding the alignment... Now six months later, impressed with West Main Auto's honesty over the matter from this spring, I attempt to do business with them for an unrelated issue. Except, they are not interested now... Apparently, maintaining customer loyalty is not as important to West Main Auto as "Keeping the Faith" with another local auto repair business making questionable recommendations for unnecessary work. I guess the questions I asked this spring were too hard, and forced them to put their professional reputation on the line. BOTTOM LINE: You need to trust that an auto shop has the customer's best interest in mind, NOT one of protecting "relationships" with other local auto shops that may have made a mistaken recommendation costing the customer hundreds of dollars more. Trust is a commodity that must be earned by a shop you are considering, and the customer has a right to ask for a second opinions when all is not adding up. THIS SHOP DOES NOT BELIEVE IN THAT PREMISE.
