Let me state that I love challenges, and working with KDS as Brand Ambassador has its challenges. Since June of last year I have had 4 different supervisors and none of them seem to know where Sacramento is located in reference to Azusa. They are very nice, but communication seems to be a one-way-street. To get my assignment for the week I have to call Monday, however, many times the schedule is not available. Although I am promised to be called, if I want to work, I have to make the call. When I get the demo kit, some of the time it does not match the verbal schedule I have received. It is either for a different location or a different product. We also have to supply our own uniform and equipment. Many times the store managers do not know when we are scheduled or which product we are promoting. Awkward. Store managers are not allowed to make substitutions; we have to call a "hotline" which does not work on Sundays (we do). A return answer from the hotline can take up to 1 hour. Frustrating AND awkward. As stated above, I like challenges and now have established a rapport with some store managers. I have been given "contact names" and call my assigned stores as soon as I receive my paperwork. Isn't that KDS's job? Since I don't know what their job is, I won't pass judgment, I report my observations and leave it at that. All in all the people on the other end (LA) are friendly and that goes a long way in my book. At least I don't have to deal with a robot and press buttons. Being a Band Ambassador is a relative new experience for me and I would have welcomed a bit of advice on what to expect. Now, having established a routine with the store managers, I feel comfortable doing my job from any location in the store.
