I ordered 6.5 yards of Portland 4000 last Wednesday. The driver seemed competent and willing to work with our crew, of whom, was undermanned for the day. The load came out great for the first yard, but we had to ask the driver to add water twice throughout the pour. Not only did he NOT add water to match my requirement of "soupy," he laughed and said the load was getting stiff. We had two guys working, an uphill buggy movement, and it was 90degrees after the first yard. In the last yard out our pour, I parked two wheel barrows at his shoot and asked him to push the remaining concrete into them. Instead, he drove over to my debris dumpster and started pushing a half yard of concrete into the dumpster. Low and behold, I had to shovel it out of the dumpster and hand turn it in the buggy to finish my job. Between trying to push stiff concrete on me and not matching a heavy slump as requested, he washed out in the city street (Chanhassen). I had to pull out a 3800psi pressure washer to clean the street, and also clean the debris dumpster. In 15 years I've never lost a load...until using this company. My customers asked my company never to return and I lost $991.99 on concrete. I get it, I was short manned, but to have a driver not add water and help keep the concrete workable, he contributed handedly to losing the job. Note: this was the first pour of the day. How does this happen? I'll pay extra for standby time. Never use this company!
