On May 21, 2018 I attended and participated in the graveside committal service of my grandmother. While walking to the grave side the workers were sitting on their tractor in plain sight not more than a few yards away; watching our service while they were eating their lunches, clearly waiting for us to conclude so they could get back to work. The headstone was removed from the grave and left covered in a mix old grass cuttings and mud, completely unrecognizable. The vault cover with chains attached was placed off to the side, preventing our family and friends from easily gathering around to take part in a a final farewell.
As a family member of more than one person laid to rest here I was and am appalled at the condition of the grounds and blatant lack of respect. I no longer live in butler and have not visited in some time, I sincerely hope when I return to visit my grandparents grave I find it in considerably better condition than when we laid her to rest.
