My husband and I moved from Pheonix, AZ to Butte. We packed up our uhaul and our moving truck and headed north. We arrived the day before our signing and checked into our hotel. Our closing time was at 10:30AM with Sara (or Sarah) and I was attempting to get confirmation of our appointment (made by our realitor based on info from our lender) that we were still on. 10:20 we find out our appointment has been cancelled. I call the title company and Sara(h) isn’t available and no one could tell me what was going on, and I mean NO ONE! I get on the phone with our realitor and needless to say that an hour later I had been told that they held up our closing on a copy of the earnest money check! That’s it! No closing should be held up on this minor issue! I could have written them a new one or sent them a copy of our cleared check from our account but Montana Abstract decided to excel ya instead. We had to pa for an extra night at the hotel and extend our uhaul for another night. Next appointment was scheduled for 1pm following day. I couldn’t get anyone to confirm that appointment either. By the way, we had a 2.5 month closing so none, absolutely NONE of this should have taken place. Our closer chats us up during closing and we explain we have a uhaul and stayed in a hotel and that our moving truck will be coming the following day between 8-9 am. At the end of closing she says to us that she has our key but can’t give it to us until the deed is filed and she can’t guarantee when that will occur and I mean if that would be the day we signed or the following day. (I have a moving company coming if you recall). She scoots us out of the building using Covid as an excuse and we are stuck with nowhere to go (unless we pay for more time at the hotel), we have a uhaul that is due back to the rerun drop off in 3.5 hours, and 3 dogs that will have to sit in the truck for 3.5 hours. These people do not care about another living soul as they are not the ones put out. GO TO ANOTHER TITLE COMPANY! Northwest title is in town, try them. By the way, Montana Abstract does not have a Better Buisness account and I’m only going to assume why.
