My experience with Garden State Gutter Cleaners has been nothing short of infuriating. Starting when they showed up unannounced to clean my gutters - not even knocking on the door. And despite there being barely any leaves on the ground or in the gutters. They spent a mere 10 minutes on the job, didn't properly secure themselves, and then hit me with a $200 bill. The frustration only escalated from there. When I tried to communicate with them, I was met with glacial response times. It took from Friday to Wednesday just to get an email reply. And when I questioned the crew about their unexpected arrival, they claimed it was scheduled - something I have no recollection of, nor was able to find any correspondence. The cherry on top of this disaster sundae? When I asked them to look at a simple downspout connection, they quoted me $700. It felt like a blatant attempt to overcharge and like they didn't even look at what I was asking them to fix. But the worst part was yet to come. In my attempts to address these issues, I was met with combative responses from both their customer service team and the owner. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes, they: Blamed me for not monitoring their work (while I was on a business call) Made me feel like I was the one who screwed up Took an aggressive stance rather than trying to resolve the situation What I wanted was a gutter cleaning service that would: Communicate clearly about appointments Provide quality work when it's actually needed Take my best interests into account Instead, I got a company that seems more interested in fleecing customers than building trusted customer relationships. Needless to say, I can't recommend them. In fact, I'd advise avoiding them like the plague. This experience has turned a simple home maintenance task into a major headache.
