With HP's legal department and our enthusiasm, the invention workshop process we ran initially in Boise, was extended across HP in the US, and then to HP around the world. This workshop engine moved HP from number 18 in US patenting in 1999, to number 3 in US patenting in 2006. Since leaving HP, we have refined our process to be more effective by customizing it to client requirements. At HP we were happy to capture 2.5 disclosures per attendee in an invention workshop. In the past 10 years we have increas
