Prosthodontists are unique specialists in dentistry. They are experts in diagnosis, treatment planning and in the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth. After dental school, they receive three extra years of specialized training giving them the ability to manage all facets of treatment at the highest level. Prosthodontics is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association. Maxillofacial prosthetics is a sub-specialty of prosthodontics that requires additional training in a hospital setting focusing on diverse, complex dental and medical conditions. Our doctors have extensive experience in caring for patients who have special needs due to head and neck cancer, trauma, surgery and congenital anomalies such as cleft lip and palate.
