After having worked for Disabled Citizens Alliance for 2 years, I am shocked to find out that they are not under the jurisdiction of Fair Labor Laws. When I asked about receiving my check they replied that because they are a non profit organization they are not required to adhere to minimum wage, and they are allowed to withhold your paycheck as long as they wish. I would definitely NOT recommend employment with this company. I was supposed to be paid a week ago. Now I don't have the means to provide the disabled person I am supposed to take care of with the things he needs. He is the real one they are hurting, the ones they are supposed to be dedicated to protecting.

Just what do some of the workers who make home visits at DCAI really do? Call 1x's a mo. to ask the same questions.Come to see you for a quick 5 or 10 mins top every 4 months.Ask questions like where did you get this and that on your furniture and other items.Isn't the Job to ask about the person who receives help and not worry where a person gets their furniture or belongings? Isn't it their job to help the person rather then try to get things taken away out of Jelousy? And why did they say we need to check your bedroom? ? ? I don't even allow my family in my bedroom unless they are helping me clean or take care of me.This company gets paid well from the state and for most the people do their jobs but there are a few who are not for their clients best interest at all.Been with this company for yr's and now they want to POLICE me???? Think it's time for a change of companies for me.
