NOT A RECOMMENDATION. I've lived at my home for 2.5 years and have had nothing but problems with things that should have been caught by this inspector. The three big things have been... 1) He told me the furnace was in good working order. The furnace had rusted burn tubes, letting carbon monide blow through the house. After several doctor visits (to find out why I was so tired) and an inspection done by a heating company, I had to replace the furnace. The guy from the heating company said "I'm not sure how you haven't died in your sleep" and "Do not turn the furnace on ever again". 2) I've found two LIVE wires coiled up and hung on a nail in the basement. Not hidden at all. I'm lucky nobody got shocked or the house burnt down. 3) I had a cement mason come out and look at an old wood window in the basement that I wanted blocked off because of drafts. I thought the window went out under the front porch. After the mason pulled the window out we relized it went under the fire place. AKA the ash dump. Yeah, this inspector thought it was fine that there was a wood window in the ash dump of a fire place! Luckily I don't have a lot of fires and I never dumped any hot ashes into that space.
