Foothills Entertainment was founded in 1985 when Byron Berkley moved to the East Texas area and re-opened the then closed Circle Plaza Cinema in Henderson. Having worked for both United Artists Theatres and General Cinema Corporation for many years, Berkley's goal was to bring the same amenities and professionalism to small town theatres that were usually found only in theatres in larger cities.
