Established in 1951 Tex Earnhardt and his father, Hal Earnhardt Sr., moved to Arizona in 1951, and they opened a small gas station in downtown Chandler. Soon after, Tex was awarded a Ford franchise. He was only 21 and was the youngest Ford franchise owner in the U.S. at the time.
