We don't recommend them for dishes right off a hot burner or right out of a hot oven. The concrete stays cool and putting a dish straight from a heat source like a burner or oven can cause damage due to extreme differences in temperatures. Let the dish stand for 5-10 minutes until it's ready to be served, then in your serving area place the dish on the Trivet and it will absorb any heat and/or condensation prod
