Last year I purchased 2 Persian Carpets at auction though both rugs needed work. After looking at my options, I decided upon Rocky Mountain Rug Gallery for repair. The owners, Farah and Jalal, are fifth generation rug dealers with knowledge that matches / surpasses any found in the USA. We was first struck by their hospitality, as though we were guests entering their home - a familiar pleasantry I had experienced while buying carpets in Marrakech. Because I am both an antiques dealer, and enormously interested in carpets, Jalal spent 4 hours with me showing me new and antique carpets and describing the difference in the weaving and the styles associated with different regions. He taught us as if he had nothing else to do the entire afternoon. Regarding my rugs, we discussed the best way to repair them; deciding between my stylistic desires and his technical know-how. There was a great deal of work to be done on both carpets but six weeks later I picked them up and was thrilled with the results of the impeccable repairs. These 2 Sarouk carpets from the 1920s were perfect and the repairs, for what I considered a fair price for the quality work done, increased the carpets' values far beyond my expectations. Since then, I have taken other carpets to RMRG for repair, appraisals, and to consign as well as sell. I trust Jalal and Farah implicitly (not all rug dealers are honest) and I send my clients to RMRG regularly. Anne Susen Front Porch Antiques Stevensville, MT
