In a world of bad blondes and equally bad stylists I stress when it comes to finding a new colorist. I moved to Pittsburgh less than a year ago from Philadelphia where I had been a salon loyalist for years. The anxiety of finding someone to replicate my perfect Bergdorf Blond was almost embarrassing but stress no less.
I tried a few salons near my home in Irwin hoping with blind faith I would find a good colorist in my neck of the woods. I reasoned that I'm not that much of a city snob. Nope, that was so wrong. I had a very earnest effort on behalf of a very nice young woman at an perfectly fine salon in my area but I left with the worst low light, brassy blond mess. Crushed I began my search in town.
Yelp led me to Avenue E Salon on Ellsworth Ave . I had a good feeling from the moment I called. The receptionist assured me I would be partnered with the owner, Timothy, and that he was a blond pro. When I arrived the salon is beautiful and calming with a predominately antique feel. Timothy listened to my troubles and calmed my nerves with a complimentary glass of wine(!). Two hours later and 25% less than my former salon I came out with the healthiest, shiniest, cool toned blond. I found him! I found my colorist match!
I can't sing any more praise about Avenue E Salon, they saved my lock life!
