My son had all of his tires replaced on 6/23/20 for a long distance road trip. They told him to check his lug nuts after 100 miles. He did. One was falling off of his right front tire and could not be replaced because the stud is damaged. The receptionist and the mechanic I spoke to were rude and would not take ownership of their mistake. Obviously if they put on the new tires and he drives 100 miles the next day only to have the lug nut fall off AND find that the stud is faulty, they are at fault. We were told if he had another mechanic fix their mistake, he would need to have documentation from the mechanic and submit it to their HR department for review. HR department? It’s a small shop. Who is in charge of the HR department? The popcorn machine?
Instead of heading to Montana he is back in Superior. I spoke with Thatcher’s and they will make the repair but I was treated like bothersome customer rather than a valued customer. In my 31 years of driving I have not experienced auto service worse that theirs.
