I do not recommend David La Pensee. He made me very uncomfortable when he would speak often and at length about his own personal issues--especially his unsuccessul quest to find someone to love him. He also spoke about how he was going to have to break up with his girlfriend, because she was not nurturing and never would be nurturing, and he really needs to be nurtured. He discussed (without using names, thankfully) other patients. After a couple of sessions, I did what I should have done early on--Google him. I soon found the below online post from him. My most recent quest ended when the woman learned I do not customarily ball room dance, after a night of free form dancing where we seemingly had a great time. Being a romantic diehard, I keep hoping that some day I will experience what this couple did, but seems a distant dream. Even at 61 I still keep trying though.

I had a similar experience to "Mary McMullen" above... Mr. Lapensee was very difficult to reach on the phone initially. It took at least three or four rounds of phone tag to actually get an appointment for him. When I showed up, his office was empty. Ten minutes after the appointment was supposed to start, he finally walked in and made me wait while he did something in his office. When he finally brought me in, he offered no explanation for his late start and made no effort to make me feel comfortable. I cut him off and said, "You're fifteen minutes late," at which point he tried to argue that he was only ten minutes late. Big deal, buddy. He was very abrupt and not at all friendly. I walked out on him with no remorse, and I would not recommend him to anyone.

I had an appt with David on a Saturday night. After having to pay for parking and going to his office, only to be found empty - I called him. No answer. Not even the decency to return my call to say he forgot. EXTREMELY unprofessional. I would choose anyone but him.
