Worst attorney ever.
Mr. Hayes is the WORST lawyer I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. He is an angry fellow with very poor social skills. I hired him for a case and terminated him shortly after hire since he was doing a terrible job. His knowledge about law is poor and the only time Mr. Hayes would call me was to collect an advanced payment. When I review my financial decisions, hiring Carl Hayes was the worst decision of my life. I made the mistake of paying for his full services upfront in advance. He rendered little to none of these services and then fabricated a handwritten call log. Carl lied about these phone calls he made which never took place. He had written on a piece of paper that he called me and my parents for many, many hours. He charged me for all of those fabricated hours. Since I didn't subpoena his phone records I ended up losing $5,000 and he never even represented me in court. In total, he may have worked about 1-2 hours max and refused to refund me any of my money after I decided to hire a more competent lawyer in his place. He chipped away at my $5,000 retainer with his $ 250-an-hour calls he never made. This was almost a decade ago and I've yet to encounter someone stoop so low.
