I purchased a B&D Spacesaver Coffeemaker 1 year ago and the handle on the carafe broke and spilled hot coffee all over my wife and myself on Sept. 6 th.. When I tried to purchase another carafe from B&D they told me that there was a recall on the carafe and they would replace it for free. Two days later the entire coffeemaker stopped working. After a month of correspondence with Applica Consumer Prod. a Subsidiary of Spectrum Brands they agreed to replace the entire coffee maker free of charge. After another month of correspondence with a representative Ms. Clara Lara, told me to return the entire coffeemaker of which I did along with a medical report and a release form. After 2 weeks of continuous calling to this persons office and getting no response after they agreed to pay me $230.00 for the coffee maker due to not being able to replace it, I have not received a response from Ms. Clara Lara. I do not recommend Black and Decker nor Applica Consumer Products to anyone.....

I bought a can opener, Black and Decker EC475B, the instructions came with the method of opening a bottle since the can opener came with a bottle opener. 1.) For use only in the removal of metal bottle caps. etc etc.. 2.) To open the bottle, position the cap under the metal "hook" in the bottle opener. 3.) Pull down to pop the cap off. ((All these years I've been doing it wrong. I've been pulling up.))
