Kevin Scully is a computer magician. He downloaded a free upgrade of Windows 7 to Windows 10 on January 8, 2020, years after the Microsoft free upgrade deadline had expired. And when that was done, he persuaded Windows 10 to speak to my ancient HP printer, whose latest driver upgrade was in 2006. While he was at it, he put the latest upgrades in my Office 10, and removed the programs that I don’t use and don’t need – those that companies put on the computer without asking, but which I don’t automatically know I don’t need. He was as thorough in explaining things to me as he was in persuading my computer to do things it wouldn’t ordinarily do.
