I also waited desperately for beefsteak hearty rye to come back. It is still tasty, because no other bakers make anything close to it, but not as good as from wonder bakeries... First thing I noticed was no seeds on outside, and crust color and outer texture changed and looks odd. Also, inside, old rye used to have random larger air pockets inside from yeast,like swiss cheese , but this is now more perfect like white bread. I was already warned from wonder workers that it is challenging to get the loaves just right during baking and processing.......I believe formula has changed. Still glad to have something fairly close though...John P.

Greetings to Orograin Bakeries: I write this with factual information. I have been eating your Anzio & Sons Bakery rolls for years. They are my main staple for my lunch at work. As I was eating my sandwich one day a couple weeks ago, it came to me, why can't Anzio's make a rye roll. I love rye bread with a ham and swiss cheese. A rye Anzio roll with the aforementioned ingredients would be a perfect combination. I prefer the seeded rye. I had previously written to Anzio's but never got a response. I am a customer for a long time,buying Frierhofer's stone ground 100% whole wheat bread. I like the bread very much. However, during the last 2-3 weeks, there have been large holes in the bread. I don't want to stop buying the bread but unless this condition is not corrected asap, I will find another bread to putrchase.

Excited to see the Beefsteak Soft Rye bread back in the stores in Warminster, PA. But...the slices are much thinner and my sandwiches fall apart. A slice breaks into pieces unless it's toasted, which is fine for breakfast, but not for sandwiches. I think you just lost a customer! Sorry. P. Griffith

We were lost without your bread as it is the BEST rye bread on the market...it even is better that our local bakery breads. Thank you, thank you and thank you again for finding another company to distribute your product. You have made a lot of people very happy! Please don't stop making this bread.

Ever seen a grown man cry? My husband was thrilled to pieces to spot Beefsteak Rye on the grocery shelf again, but his excitement was quickly dashed upon first bite. Change the packaging, the size, the price--OK, we'd accept that, but why did you change the recipe?! This bread isn't horrid, but it's not our beloved Beefsteak Rye. We want our old Hearty Beefsteak Rye back--but realize the odds of that are slim and we are afraid a salami sandwich will never be the same.
