I had a horrible experience with Katelynn in September of this year. This mistake cost me $510. I went in for a color correction 2 weeks before my wedding and left crying. I had hopes of turning my reddish brown hair into blue/pink/purple colors but once Katelynn lifted my hair she explained that this would not be possible, which was fine. My hair was only capable of lifting to a raspberry/coral color. I liked this color it naturally lifted to and agreed for a raspberry color melt on my roots down into the middle of the rest of my hair, leaving the ends the light coral color. However, Katelynn ended up putting a copper orange in my hair instead. It completely covered the raspberry coral color she just worked to get my hair with a vibrant orange. I looked like a natural ginger which would be great if that's what I wanted at all, but I never once asked for or even mentioned the color orange/copper. I was stunned when I saw myself in the mirror with the final result, I said I was happy with it as I left with a lump in my throat because I am a shy person and didn't know how to convey my dissatisfaction without sounding like a jerk. My wedding was 2 weeks away and I just had a house fire the week before that nearly killed my cat and destroyed my apartment. As I got in the car with my fiance who came to pick me up, I immediately broke down into tears crying how I didn't even recognize myself, I've never had orange hair in all my 30 years and now I'd look like this for my wedding. He pushed me to go back inside and complain but I tried to convince myself I could get used to it. I could get past the fact that I was left in a chair with burning product on my head multiple times by both Katelynn and her assistant, for up to 30 mins at a time multiple times with no information given like "hey be back in x amount of time", or "we're just gonna let this product process for x amount of time", they'd just dissappear. (I was paying by the hour no less). I could look past the curtain bangs I was given being terribly uneven and not blended and looking more like a chunk was cut off and just happened to be parted down the middle instead of true curtain bangs. And I could look past being sent home with globs of wet hair dye still on my neck and ears and forehead, and my scalp stained to the point where it looked like I was bleeding. But i couldn't look past the fact that i had fire orange copper hair that I never once asked for. The next day I reached out to Katelynn on Instagram direct message and told her how unhappy I was and she initially was very accommodating. She offered for me to come back and let her correct everything with a color I actually wanted, free of charge I was so relieved. I asked if we could do this correction after my wedding because I was afraid that doing so much processing so close together right before my wedding would leave my hair bottle and damaged and I didn't want my hair breaking off or falling out before my wedding. She said "of course, reach out to me after the wedding (sept 27th) and we'll get this fixed" Again, I was relieved and grateful. I reached out on October 2nd (only 5 days post wedding) and asked about coming in to correct this mistake. No answer. I reached out again 2 weeks later on October 14th asking if she had received my last message from 10/02. She responded by saying too much time has passed, she will credit my account for $80 instead. So her promises of fixing her mistake went from "free of charge" to just an $80 credit, from a service that cost me $510 . I asked why this was no longer a free of charge correction for her mistake and that resulted in a slew of excuses. First, Katelynn claimed that this mistake should have been corrected within 2 weeks of the service as per salon rules, but she was willing to correct it past 2 weeks as a "courtesy " to me. I had only said I didn't want to risk correcting it before my sept 27th wedding, I didnt constrict her to a time frame beyond that. Then she went on to explain the color and oxidation process hair goes through when colored etc, saying that I missed my window for correction, the window was 7-12 days post coloring. 12 days wouldn't have even brought us into October, so why did she tell me to reach out to her after my wedding to schedule the correction?? Had Katelynn given me ANY of this information, whether the salon "policy" or the window of time available for correcting hair color, I would have scheduled the correction right away! Possibly even before my wedding if I knew that was my only chance to have this fixed. If I was given ANY of this information, then this whole situation would be on ME, and Katelynn and Off 7th Salon would not be at fault whatsoever, but NO ONE gave me this info until now, November 28th. And the 3rd excuse - Katelynn claims we sat down together and agreed on copper before she applied it. But in the SAME message to me, she says "the copper color i out on in error" So WHICH IS it???

I had a 1 o'clock appointment with Briana today and not once did anyone come over to me ,not even Brianna to tell me that she sorry that she's running late , she even stood in front of me as she was grooming her customers hair and taking pictures ...not once even acknowledging that I was sitting there waiting for over a half hour. I've been a customer since March and that's just not the way you treat your customers . I totally understand if she's running late but at least acknowledge me because I'm sure as hell going to be acknowledged when it's time to pay and time to tip! Horrible Service!
