Wilde Tool was purchased by brothers Paul and Otto Froeschl in 1922. The family continues to manufacture quality hand tools, start to finish. Wilde Tool was located in Kansas City until 1955. In 1955 the Froeschls moved the operations from Kansas City to Hiawatha, KS. The second generations started running day to day operations when the company started production in Hiawatha. Until the 1980's the operations were ran by Paul Froeschl's two sons Paul Jr. and Phil. Throughout the 1980's the third generation came into the management fold at Wilde. Today, Wilde is a privately held corporation managed by the 3rd and 4th generations of the founders. In Hiawatha, Wilde Tool brings in raw steel, forges the steel, and manufactures pliers, punches, chisels, pry bars, scrapers and other hand tools used in the automotive and plumbing industries.
