Beware of this company! Do NOT do business with this company. And especially do not if you are elderly. This company is completely irresponsible and not reputable; they like to steal customers items that they are working on. Our 1 year old lawn mower they were working on, they lost the key and they lost the battery. They also did not tell the manufacturer the truth what was wrong so it wasn't covered under manufacturer warranty. They wanted me to let them keep the lawnmower and when I wouldn't they returned it to me in pieces as they did not know how to put it back together.. Not only did they collect from the manufacturer, but also charged me $80 before they would even return it to me. They gave me someone elses key and then when I kept calling them about the lost battery, they went to Walmart and bought a battery that they tried to pass off as mine. They evidently didn't know I would notice the difference. They humorous thing is the battery was one year newer than the lawn mower and said right on it Walmart. The lawn mower was a Troybilt from Lowes and they don't use Walmart batteries. Talked to another person who they did this too the other day. They took in a weedeater and when they went to get it, they were given someone elses. This was an elderly person too.

Thank you for your review. I remember this warranty case well. Though it has been some time I went ahead and reviewed all that we still have on it to respond to you as factually and fairly as possible. This was a warranty job in which we were inspecting as to why your engine broke, to see if Briggs and Stratton would take it on warranty. We found the engine to be covered in compacted grass, and also saw evidence that the engine had over heated. From the over heating it cooked out what oil was inside, because the only oil left was very thick and tar like. When the engine ran out of oil, it caused the piston head to catch too much friction on the cylinder walls. With that added friction, heat, and high rate of movement, it broke the piston rod in half which launched part of it through the engine block. As this was not claimed by Briggs, they would not pay for the services rendered. We did not put back together the engine so that you could save money from the time it would have taken to put back together, because you already had to pay for all the work so far and pick up/delivery fees of the riding mower. As far as the battery, we are not too sure what happened with that. We are fairly confident that it came to us without a battery, but because of the degree of doubt that we held in it, we bought and provided you with a brand new battery. Additionally where the battery came from does not matter as to if the piece of equipment can use the battery. I apologize for the experience that you had with us, but much of your review is twisted into as bad of a way that you could have put it. It was a bad situation you were in with your new riding mower. However this situation was not brought on by us in any degree. We operated within the guide lines given Briggs and Stratton when rendering warranty work. And from the Better Business Bureau aspect this almost exact same complaint that was filed with them, they ended up throwing out the window. We provided them with the same information that was provided to you and Briggs and Stratton, to which the BBB just simply got rid of the complaint. I do empathize with you, I just ask that you treat us fairly and use the facts as they are and not as they can be perceived. Again thank you for your feed back and have great day!
