I buy the imitationvanilla,butter and nut flavor. I recently tried to bake the cake receipt listed on the bottle and it would not bake in the specified [1.5 hrs.]. I baked almost 2 hrs. the center was still wet and the outside was like a rock. Can you please help me. Ron Galli [email protected]

I'v made the vanilla butter nut cake several times with success. I do pre heat the oven, but I also have to give the cake an additional ten minutes or so bake time (even after confirming with a thermometer that the oven temp was correct). I have found that the fresher the eggs, beating the heck out of it (especially the butter/sugar phase) and adhering to the mixing/addition of ingredients as instructed, the better the cake! I have an old bottle of of the Imitation Vanilla Butter and Nut flavoring. I need to find where I can buy another bottle. This is a wonderful cake, but you have to start from a COLD oven for it to bake correctly. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and as far as I know no one in Anchorage carries this.
