Do not hire. We have been trying, for almost 2 years, to get new image to honor their warranty with us, to no end. They have ignored numerous certified letters and emails. The owner, David Stewart, has used threats and work stoppages to try to intimidate us into accepting substandard work. In short, we hired new image to renovate our 40 by 20 dive pool, with pebble surface and add a raised concrete water feature. They, apparently, had unqualified people work on the feature, which resulted in severe cracks to our pool decking, tile, tile grout and the grout under the pool deck. Some cracks are as large as half an inch. Our pool wall appears to have been impacted and the tile is bowed and cracking at the point at which they demolished the portion of the existing deck and upon which they poured an extremely heavy solid cement raised feature. We have before and after photos, as well as photos taken over the past 1 year & 10 months showing the progression of these cracks. There are also the issues of the poorly installed lion head water fountain and streaky pebble surface, which was done by Sun Sparkle Pools, owner, Dunia Lopez. Ms Lopez at first agreed to take care of the issue, then reneged. She also became very nasty and argumentative claiming that the poor coverage of the pebble was due to us allowing dust to get into the pool. Apparently this dust streaked and bleached the pool walls, streaks ran down the entirety of the walls and covered the steps, before the water was even in the pool, which the pool was still under construction. Not only do we have weekly professional pool service, we complained of these issues immediately after the pebble was done. Both New Image, who is ultimately responsible for the pebble install, and Sun sparkle are, in my opinion, refusing to honor their warranty. By the way, the contractor filled the pool immediately after doing the pebble install, so I do not know where all of this supposed dust came from, nor do i know why the dust hasn't dissipated in the water. We hired a structural engineer, who provided us with an official written report, stating that these numerous stress cracks are caused by New Image's improper engineering of the solid concrete water feature and that the sheer weight of the concrete they placed on our pool deck, which, in the engineer's words caused sufficient deformations in the pool walls in this locale, due to the added weight of the new waterfall structure above. It is very much a concern that not only our deck, but also our pool walls have been damaged. One of the lion head water fountains spits wildly, which they tried to convince us is normal. Not only did they not honor their contract and warranty, they ignored us and, even put a lien on your property and threatened to force the sale of our home, after we complained about a shoddy repair of the newly excavated trench, they dug for a split drain, at the bottom of the 12 foot deep end. They had a worker fill an approx 18"deep X 12" wide trench with loose rocks and a 'cow patty' of thin cement. The lien was placed when we demanded that this trench be filled with solid cement. The water feature and pebble had yet to be installed and the final payment wasn't due until the project was complete. They finally filled in all of the holes appropriately (including 3 vertical holes in the pool walls, after noting that the thin 'cow patty' of cement had caved into the 18" trench they "repaired". This was a very long battle and we feel that the company took vengeance out on us for complaining. I could go on and on, about unwarranted work stoppages, etc. Please carefully reconsider if you are thinking about hiring this company. There are complaints filed with the BBB, ROC and on various sites, do yourself a favor and read these prior to hiring. Our pool deck, grout and tile continues to crack and the water feature wall appears to be bowing even further, just as our structural engineer's official written opinion warned. We intend to take other action, before more damage is done to our pool deck and wall.
