The Junior State is a non-partisan, non-profit, entirely student-run organization that has worked to increase political awareness in high schools.

With over 10,000 members in most states, the Junior State of America (JSA) is the largest student-run organization in the United States. At these conventions, students listen to important political speakers, engage in social activity and most importantly, and engage in a wide variety of political discussion and debate with their fellow students. Through the art of civil discourse students have the opportunity to become directly engaged in politics. A secondary purpose of the Junior State is to teach leadership through practical experience, which is why JSA is student-run and led. The Junior State also runs prestigious summer programs at Georgetown, Princeton, & Stanford.
