R E Welch Gallery begins this season glowing after being voted Best Art Gallery in Palm Desert by Desert Magazine readers two years in a row. This acknowledgement of Welch Gallery's fine stable of international artists was recieved as icing on the cake by owners Ronald Welch and David Roberts. Their French sculpture artist, Jean-Louis Corby's Danseur was also declared the clear winner of the El Paseo International Exhibition in 2008. Danseur received an overwhelming percentage of the public's vote. This stunning example of Corby's work has been placed in front of the Palm Desert Civic Center.

The Artist, Élan Vital As the son of a prominent lithographer and growing up in New York City, Élan was exposed to art and color at a very early age. His discovery of Leonardo Da Vinci's renaissance diversity theory first touched him when he was only seven; Da Vinci became an influential force in Élan's life, and still is to this day. Élan attended a high school for gifted students and graduated with honors, attaining an equivalency of an Associate Degree in Engineering at age seventeen. After graduation, Élan was hired by the IBM Corporation as a computer diagnostics expert-the youngest on their team. He was later hired by the ITT Corporation as a design engineer for projects such as the Manila Airport underground lighting system and the towers for a hydroelectric dam in Pakistan.

Internationally recognized fine artist Trevor Goss has opened a new gallery on El Paseo in Palm Desert, California, the premiere destination for fine art in the Coachella Valley and Palm Springs area Trevor Goss has had art studios in Cape Town, London, Ibiza, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Palm Springs. His work is in collections throughout the United States, Europe and South Africa.
