My daughter was a severely battered woman with a man who would kill her if she didn't get out. She went to the Constance Morris house where she finally found a sense of safety. I picked her up at the 7-11 on 47th&LaGrange Rd. Afterwards I dropped her off there,as for the safety of the other women, I couldn't know the location of the shelter. My daughter went to the shelter on 3/4. On the 7th after I dropped her off, she was accused by a black worker, of getting out of a van.My daughter said no, I was with my Mom who took me to Loyola Burr Ridge for a ct scan. They made my daughter leave just on the accusation of a worker who was clearly biased for whatever reason. There are women staying there that see their abusers on a daily basis and are dropped off in front of the shelter!Some of the women staying there are even getting drunk on the premisis! One lady backed her car up into the building! She was never asked to leave. But my daughter, who did nothing wrong was escorted out of the building, per Ms.Seagal, the director! There is something shady going on there. And they are supposed to help? The van in question belongs to a family living next door in an apt.building. I spoke to Ms.Seagal myself, pleading with her for my daughters safety. She DID NOT CARE. As far as she was concerned the workers word was golden. People donate to this shelter so women like my daughter would be safe. This is an abomination!! They keep who they want to keep and toss out who they want to toss!
