Do NOT do business with Matthew & Anthony Jones of Cape Fear Upholstery!! On Monday, May 8th, I visited CFU to place an order for a convertible soft top & installation. The owner, Matthew, charged me $540.00. He told me that the top would arrive that Thursday & could be installed the same week. I called on Saturday & he said they could install the top on Monday the 22nd. On Monday, I was at the shop at 8 AM. The door was locked. I knocked & no one answered. I called Mr. Jones. He did not answer, so I left a message, telling him that I was at the store & I could not stay long because my mother, who was going to provide me with transportation while my car was at the top shop, had to be at work at 9 AM. I called 3 more times & left a message each time. In my last message, I said I only wanted the top that I had purchased or a refund. Mr. Jones never called me back. I got in my car & drove home. At about 2 PM on the same day, I returned to the shop & found Matthew's brother, Anthony, who works as an installer in the shop. I told him what happened earlier in the day and he said he'd install the top that day. I returned to the shop hours later & found that the top on my car had not been replaced! Anthony claimed that the box only contained a window instead of a complete top & had no idea where the rest was. Said he'd track it down & call me with an update. He never called and to this day (July 28), I haven't received a refund & the Jones brothers dodge my calls and visits.
