A family business since 1964 celebrating 30 years in Key West, world renowned emerald and conch pearl authority Manuel Marcial de Gomar started out in the mountains of Colombia in 1955 on horseback mining emeralds. His travels and life throughout the Caribbean also led him to his lifelong passion and renowned expertise in the world of conch pearls. After opening the very first emerald store Emeralds of Colombia, outside of Colombia in 1964 in Freeport Bahamas, he opened Emeralds International in 1969 in Hawaii (not affiliated with the corporate chain stores Diamonds International). His love for design and differentness have shaped his legacy involving his passions for these 2 rare gems. His daughter Marina del Alba and son-in law Carl Anthony are involved in continuing the family tradition
