Dear Christian, A few years ago I purchased a very nice 17" viola which I have used in Sextet group, and symphony orchestra. You also made a bridge for my copy of Louis 9 Amati 18 1/2"Tenor viola 1574. Recently I read on the Internet of a so called new instrument called a Viola Profonda. When I tuned the Amati Viola an octave lower it matched the Profonda in tone. I tried the 17" Gliga the same way and it gives a marvelous sound. I wonder if your 17 1/2" viola would react the same way. Best Wishes for 2012. Jack Smith
