Born in Bangalore, South India, Marcus completed his basic surgical training in the United Kingdom before immigrating to the United States of America, where he underwent a 5 year General Surgery residency training in New York City. After this, he then completed a Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship training program in Baltimore, Maryland and has since established his Houston practice in 1988. Over the last 28 years, Dr. Aquino has performed over 17,000 colon and rectal surgeries. Most of his surgeries are done in an outpatient setting as these specific surgeries have been shown to be both cost effective and well accepted by patients. Whenever possible, anesthetic techniques are used to maximize patient comfort and maintain that the patient never feels uncomfortable with whatever surgery or procedure they are having done. As Dr. Aquino has a private operating room, he can perform surgeries for cash paying, uninsured patients and those with high deductibles. A "drive out" fixed fee is offered at very reasonable terms.
