BEWARE THE PAINT JOB!!! Nov, 2018, I purchased a tractor, a Ford 1956 660 advertised in writing as “perfect” from the shop of Skip’s Repair, 11400 Old Hamburg Road, Hamburg, MI. The paint was beautiful, and I was told by Sam, Skip’s son, currently running the business, that a full restoration had just been completed the year before. I paid $6000.00. The problem is when parts related to grass cutting and snow plowing both, failed the first time I used them, I also noticed the engine oil was filthy and the hydraulic was more than 3 quarts low. When I told Sam what just happened, he said “no, there is NO WARRANTY on any 60-year-old tractor”. Within 8 months (literally 10 hours of use) the entire engine was shot and had to be completely rebuilt – parts and labor cost me over $3600.00. It was then Sam told my mechanic – “OK, it was actually restored over 20 years ago”. I sincerely don’t want this to happen to anyone else. AVOID THIS SHOP!!!
