Company started in 1967 as Houston Eleectronics, Electronic Security Service became a seperate company in 1974. The company developed the first computer based security system called "Guardian" in 1975. The company also patented th first ion smoke detector the same year, this was sold to Pyro-Detector. Further the company developed one of the very first magnetic door locks, which subsiquently was used by the US Navy to secure the hatchs on the missle tubes on sub marines. The company always strives to improve existing security devices, and applie them "out side of the box"
