Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) is the initial phase for assessing a property of interest. Here site reconnaissance, historical information and documentation are compiled. This is the speculative stage where all the information gathered may contain only one piece of information which could generate questions or other avenues requiring further investigation.
Phase II ESAs are usually done when they are recommended in a Phase I ESA report. They are conducted to establish the chemical makeup of the soil and groundwater in order to determine if there are significant amounts of contaminants that may require remediation or monitoring, or create land use limitations.
Removal of an Underground Storage Tank (USTs) and a Leaking Underground Tank (LUST) can usually take anywhere between one to two weeks to complete. This includes both the removal of the tank(s) and submittal of the final report.
