Universal design combines a sustainable philosophy with design solutions that take all people of all sizes, shapes, ages and abilities into consideration. It is good for the planet and all people. Lisa is also a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, this is the term used for those folks that wish to live in their homes throughout their later years. It also includes people with physical challenges due to a progressive illness, trauma and other special needs. Lisa Sandlin is an Instructor for the NAHB and teaches Universal Design and CAPS (Certified Aging-inPlace Specialist) courses for HBA's accross the country. She also authored the book entitled "Houses That Work for Life!" available at Amazon.com or her website. Lisa has a BS in Design and a MS in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati.
