Two months ago we hired Joseph to drywall our shop and attic. He quoted us on each job separately. He completed the shop quickly and did a good job. He finally agreed to get started on the attic (the more difficult of the two) tomorrow, June 15th. After complaining that he really wasn't looking forward to the job, he called us this afternoon to let us know he just didn't want to do it any longer. What kind of professional agrees to do a job and then less than 24 hrs before starting changes his mind? And because it would just be too hard? He claims he didn't understand the scope of the job, but only because he didn't pay attention to our needs when describing the space. Two wasted months because of unprofessional treatment! Joseph may do great work, but apparently only if it's "easy".

This is always difficult. Sometimes you meet a potential customer and there is a misunderstanding to what exactly is being asked of you and the scope of the work to be done. My feelings are that there was a misunderstanding of what the customer wanted and that it kept changing each time I showed up and went over the project. My apologies to the Webb couple and the time wasted in getting it ready. I've been in business since 2000, and sometimes you have to walk away before contracts are signed or say "no" to a project due to the size, scope, or communication between parties involved. I am a small business and enjoy giving homeowners and contractors a product and service that they are happy and satisfied with. If I feel I can't give that to a potential customer from the start, they need to hire someone else. I give free estimates and try to keep my rates fair and competitive to other drywall companies in the area. I ask lots of questions when I look at a project the first time and get an estimate out usually within 24 hours. Referrals from other contractors and homeowners can be given anytime.
