USDA Inspected Production Facility Today, Western’s Smokehouse operates a modern, federally approved production facility inspected by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS). A federal USDA inspector maintains an office in our plant and reviews our production procedures, food safety records and plant facilities on a daily basis. SQF Certified Production Facility Safe Quality Food (SQF) Institute's Mission is to deliver consistent, globally recognized food safety and quality certification programs based on sound scientific principles, consistently applied across all industry sectors, and valued by all stakeholders.
