About

Manufacture Vermont Hardwood Bowls, I use only discarded wood, the older the better.

I use discarded Machine lathes that have been modified to turn my bowls. The tools and machines were made here with the help of local welders, and machinists. We start whith large chunks of wood, turn them on the lathe, let them dry, then sand them. Some of the bowls suggest that they be painted in, when this happens I use watercolor paints on the raw wood to paint interesting subjects, Birds, fish, animals or sugar houses, it depends on my mood.
