I am also not recommending this place. My child was court appointed, feb. 1 and i have seen him 2 times. one was a visit and one was couseling. i'm looking into to this organization and will be requesting info on counselors and teachers. whatever i find i will be taking to the judge directly. and they told me my son would have regular couseling, but to find out just days ago...in the couselors words... he has couselors avialable if he wants to talk... he has no set regular couseling sessions. I recomend if your child is there and they say he or she can have a one hour supervised visit instead of the 5 hour visit, that you find a way to do so. As they did this twice so far to me and with the couselors advisement i did not go, I wish I had!!! Something is not right...and i will get to the bottom of it all...I work fulltime but every hour not wking is going to go into this. Oh and they told me in the beginning he would be allowed to call , write and receive mail....the letter i wrote hime the first week has never got to him!

Let me first start by saying my son is no angel. He was first placed june 2011, he has made some mistakes while being there but how ever trivial they may be we have missed several visits, poorly counseled, with no signs of coming home any time soon. The more this goes on the more I feel they are keeping him there just for pay. I am not saying they haven't done anything for him but I am not convinced he needs 24/7 placement without proper supervision. He could get more then that at home being taken to a professional counselor. Any information reguarding susquahanna house would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

I've been there many times. I work for a local education agency. I will say simply this. 98% of the children are there for reasons caused by the parents. I think that parents reviewing this site is laughable. The majority of the children there are pulled away from the deplorable parents and homes that they come from. How can a parent judge a place that their kids go to b/c they couldn't be a good parent? I think you need to ask the students and/or communities after they graduate to see if this place helped them in life.
