I went to work at this Target Distribution Center in Suffolk. Hired by a temp company it was the worst work experiences I ever had. The group I was hired with was told to meet a certain person when we got to Target, and to arrive 15 minutes early. We all were early, and the person we were suppose to meet with did not come in. We were not given any orientation about anything. We were put on assignments and not shown how to run any equipment, or given any personal protective equipment. When we asked about gloves we were told they could be purchased from a vending machine. I think OSHA needs to pay this facility on going visits. There are a lot of illegal working conditions and procedures happing here. Stupid is as stupid does. I wouldn't recommend this as a place to work if you are seeking a career move. This place is stuck in the ice age of old sweat shops and non team environments. The way you are worked here I can understand way everything is poor. You barely have time to eat anything for break, and there is definitely no time to, talk or communicate about nothing. All that is worried about here is loading conveyors and trucks, not safety! When hired as a temp you wind up with all bottom labor jobs, and no training. If you get in a bind the only help you will get is someone telling you, "you gotta roll", or "tighten-up". This is the most nonprofessional place I ever worked.
