Acomdata and its parent company filed for bankruptcy in 2011. The parent company name was Dura Micro Inc. The owner was Titus Wu. He still owns a factory in China and builds external hard drives for Toshiba Europe, Fantom hard drives and possibly some other companies. It is believed he also owns another company based in Hong Kong named Marquess. He also has the license to sell Gunnar eyewear in Taiwan. It is suspected that Titus Wu is shady in his business dealings. While he claims he is broke, he owned the large warehouse/office building where Acomdata/Dura Micro had its offices, he owned a high end home in SoCal, he had a large mansion in Ohio and drove an $80k Audi. It is suspected he used funds directly from Dura Micro Inc to renovate his California home and also to buy a $2 million mansion in Toronto Canada, which he took an additional several hundred thousand from the company to renovate. He is currently hiding out in Taiwan as he owes massive amounts of money to creditors in the US. From the huge amount of end-user complaints online, it also looks like Titus We sold tens of thousands of external hard drives through CompUSA and Fry's Electronics using mail-in rebates as an incentive. From the comments found online, they would only mail customers their checks if they phoned in to complain.
