I ordered garden fence segments online, to be picked up by me in the North Windham, CT store. They were to be ready for pick up by August 6th. Tracking said that it arrived on the 6th but at the end of the day I called and they said they couldn't find it and that it might be ready tomorrow and they were call and email me. No one reached out to me so I called and the customer service associate said that they could not find my order (even though my tracking said it had been delivered a day and a half ago to that store) and that they might have run out of the product and that I might get it August 10th at the earliest. This made no sense for a variety of reasons. The associate told me she would call me back that same day but she didn't and I had to call the store. Again, she said that no one knew where the order was. They eventually found it in the back somewhere so I was able to come in and pick up the item. On the phone the associate said that all 5 segments of the fence I ordered would be in a single box. Upon opening the box I found there were only 2 segments, not 5. In addition, the product was the completely wrong type (a more expensive model), and both of the fence segments were either badly broken or damaged. I called the store immediately and the associate said that no manager was available to help me that day and the appropriate manager would not arrive until Monday, 3 days from now. She also said I could try calling the next day because someone 'might' be in the store that could help. I then called the Home Depot service line and a representative said that there was little she could do, in terms of returning the items, etc. because the product(s) were marked by the Home Depot store as 'Partially Received" in their system. She said the North Windham store would have to deal with this entire process. She said that I would have to bring the 2 incorrect broken fence segments into the store so that they could determine if I would be able to return it and get the hundreds of dollars I paid for it, back. Thus far, I have little reason to believe that will compensate me appropriately, if at all and will simply take the 2 products back to ship back to their warehouse and then have them send the correct ones to the North Windham store where I would have to pick them up to avoid home delivery costs. Judging by how long it took to ship the box one way, this entire process will take 3 and a half weeks or more and I will be getting my products a month later than the time I originally should have. Sorry but giving me 15 precent off isn't going to cut it.
