Transitional Housing Program with Supportive Services for Homeless Families with children. Our Mission is to change the lives of homeless families by providing them with encouragement and the tools for achieving self-sufficiency. In 1981 the Orange Coast Interfaith Shelter (OCIS) was founded to address the seemingly simple needs of homeless families. During that time OCIS provided the tangibles such as food, housing, and clothing, which appeared to be enough, but we soon realized that much more was needed. OCIS evolved into a multifaceted transitional housing program which addresses the needs of families from shelter to counseling. OCIS is structured to respond in a proactive manner to the needs of our families and as a result has been able to expand our programs and facilities in a fiscally responsible manner.
