Subsidized, service-based training through paid internships for income eligible people who are at least 55 years of age.
This national program of the United States Department of Labor is administered locally through the City of Duluth's Workforce Development Department. The program fosters individual economic self-sufficiency, and strives to move job-ready persons into unsubsidized employment. Participants are placed in internship positions in a wide variety of community service positions at non-profit and public organizations. They work on average 20 hours per week, and receive federal minimum wage.
