River’s Edge Deli is your local family deli where you can find warm homemade meals, the best Rueben’s in town and Fish Chowder that will keep you coming back for more. Owned by Steve Lampron, a Westbrook local and managed by his daughter Kristen, they have called River’s Edge Deli on Main Street home for the past 14 years and have owned deli’s throughout Westbrook for the past 25 years. Before River’s Edge Deli on Main Street, Steve had River’s Edge Deli located on Bridge Street and prior to that Fruiti’s on Main Street. Steve has three girls and two grandsons. His main concern as a Dad and Papa is that his children and everyone that comes into his deli has plenty to eat. Steve’s most common question repeated multiple times a day is “Did you eat”? The deli is his passion as it allows him to do his two favorite things: put food in your stomach and make you smile. He will not let you leave the store hungry and proof is in the size of the sandwiches and with his laugh being as contagious as it is, you are sure to leave the store with a smile on your face. Walking in to the deli you will feel a sense of home and by your third visit we will know your name and have your favorite sandwich memorized. If you are a sports fan, you will be sure to have something to talk about while waiting for your food to be prepared. If you hear “Pal” or “Hun” look in that direction as Steve is talking to you. The atmosphere of the deli is just a plus on top of the food being prepared. For breakfast you can order a Bacon, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich for enjoying on your way to work or sit and stay to enjoy a full breakfast. The home fries are necessary, with hand cut potatoes prepared for the perfect texture and taste. We have Donuts that take over the counter and Muffins fresh out of the oven that you can’t resist. Home cooked meals are made daily: Monday - Shepard’s Pie, Tuesday - Boiled Dinner, Wednesday - Meatloaf, Thursday - Turkey Dinner and Friday - Chop Suey and Macaroni and Cheese. Arrive early or you might not get your favorite, as meals go fast! The soups are made fresh daily, from Chili to Chicken Vegetable soup and Steve’s signature Fish Chowder that customers will call ahead of time just to have a bowl or two saved.
