For at least a decade blatantly defrauding customers has been THE way to do business. Specific areas on interest are the RR series softeners (water softener with analog cycles --> timed by gears) that have been relabeled and sold as RF softeners (softener with digitally controlled cycles). Between Sept 2008 and Dec 2011 ALL but maybe 3-4 customers who paid for an RF unit were delivered an RR unit. As well, after years of service the resin in the softener breaks-down. When that happens customers experience 'low pressure' and call for service. The expensive rebedding process involved refilling the customer's softener with 'new' resin that was so thoroughly used most of the beads were decomposing. Think you were ripped off? Check your toilet tank for a brownish orange pile of debris. THAT is an accumulation of eroded ion exchange resin. These particles of decomposing plastic are not exclusive to toilets.
