BEWARE!!!
I’ve been a loyal client for the past 3 years. Every time I came to the salon, I left happy and wrote them a raving review.
Yesterday I came in for a root touch up. Instead of the foil treatment Michelle gave me the first time around, she bleached my entire head to the scalp not once but twice, it turned my hair a completely different color, damaged my hair and then burned my scalp.
I sat in the salon in agony while the bleach sat on my head burning me. I woke up this morning to open wounds and scabs all over my head. When I expressed to Michelle that I was upset and I wanted to speak with her she told me she was busy, completely booked and didn’t have time for me. Then proceeded to text me and say she doesn’t want me as a client anymore and that coming in with wet hair + bleach and burning a client's scalp was a liability.
Well, it’s a bit too late for that now. If it was a liability then why did she proceed to bleach my hair? Both the owner (Gerry) and Michelle who have been doing hair 35 years of experience combined - knew that if they bleach my hair I would get burned. I’m not a hair dresser, If I knew or had been warned that my skull would be severely burned I absolutely would have come back another day.
Let’s take this back a couple of years. Over the 3 years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars coming to this salon & not only that Michelle had become my friend. We’d go out for drinks, chat over the phone and check in on each other. As my friend, I told her the prices I was being charged was a lot.. $600 not including tip is a lot. Instead of me shopping around for another salon, she also agreed the prices were high and offered to do house calls for me for half the price and favors/discounts when I came into the salon. Of course I greatly appreciated her candor! Afterall, we’re friends right!? Or so I thought…….Sometimes she’d tell me to come in with my hair straightened already to do a quick trim other times she’d tell me to come in with my hair wet since it saves a couple bucks as the salon charges by the hour and this would save time. So not knowing any better, I came in with my hair wet yesterday.
Fast forward, after she texted me that she’s dropping me as a client and didn’t want to fix her mistake or even apologize for it, I immediately went back to the salon to face her. Upset at why she would completely disregard me as a client/friend and blame me for her wrong doing. While I was there Michelle told me she didn’t want to talk to me and that she was with a client. So I spoke to the owner, Gerry. Gerry told me it was my fault for coming to the salon with my hair wet and that whatever transpired between Michelle and I was between Michelle and I. That they’d refund my money and be done with me as a client. To add to that, I disrespected the salon by accepting Michelles offer do hair at my home.
Not sure what the next step is for me - I’m in a lot of pain at the moment. Just wanted to warn all of you before you consider this salon. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else. There are over a hundred other salons in the surrounding area. You’ll get the same amazing look for much cheaper and maybe you’ll at least get a cup of coffee or a glass of water when you walk in.
